You will begin the game with 3 Rune points, and earn 3 more every time you level up. A couple examples are Gilded Soul Cage and Featherwhite Armor because of their strong healing effects.Įach hero has 4 base Abiilities (Q, W, E, and R by default), and each base Ability has 4 different Tiers of Runes (T1, T2, T3, and T4), for a total of 16 Runes per Hero. If you are lucky enough to find some low level Immortal items, there are several that are perfect for leveling. After every player has chosen an option, the game will automatically generate random rolls from 1 to 100 for each player, and the item will appear in the inventory of the player that rolled the highest.Īt early levels, you will want to focus on equipping gear that boosts your main attribute (either Strength, Agility, Intelligence, or Spirit), or increases your Hit Points, Mana, or Regen. If the timer runs out, you will automatically decline the item. Here, you will have 30 seconds to preview the item's effects, stats, level, and sockets, as well as roll on it (using the green "Greed" button) or decline it (using the red "X" button). Whenever a player in a party picks up an Immortal or Arcana item, it will pop-up in the lower right portion of your screen, just above your inventory. All Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Mythical items can be picked up freely when playing in a party. Immortal and Arcana items, however, will need to be rolled upon to receive. To pick up items, you simply right click them while on the ground. Some quests also reward powerful items, and these are often worth completing, especially during early levels. Loot comes in 5 levels of rarity consisting of Common (white), Uncommon (blue), Mythical (purple), Immortal (gold), and Arcana (green). Killing enemies will reward you with experience, but they will also occasionally drop loot and/or quest items.
Some heroes that are recommended for beginning players are: Paladin (Omniknight), Astral Ranger (Drow Ranger), Auriun (Zeus), Sorceress (Crystal Maiden), and Flamewaker (Dragon Knight).Ī few of the more complex heroes that are NOT recommended for beginning players are: Omniro (Faceless Void), Jex (Arc Warden), Ekkan (Visage), Solunia (Vengedul Spirit), and Elemental Warlord (Beastmaster).īeyond that, you should simply pick a hero that appeals to your playstyle (melee, ranged, caster, etc) and dive in. Some of the heroes (there are 30, all with 4 unique base abilities, and 16 unique runes to augment each ability) are much more complex, and therefore more difficult, for beginning players to use. Roshpit Arena, Sea Fortress, and Winterblight Mountain are exceptionally difficult and are balanced to be the highest challenge end-game maps. Serengaard is an end-game wave survival map, and is balanced around having a party of 4, so it is not recommended to play solo or use for leveling. If you're feeling a bit more brave, you can also start in Tanari Jungle, but this map is non-linear and more complex for beginning players. After you finish the Tutorial, the best map to begin your adventure on is Redfall Ridge, due to its somewhat linear structure and abundance of quests. There is an abundance of quality information in it, and it even earns you some really great rewards that are invaluable to starting players, including a large infusion of the in-game currency to help gear your hero. It is highly recommended that if you are completely new to the game, you play through the Tutorial. "Normal" is the default standard difficulty, and where you should start your adventure on any new hero.
You can also use chat or the official Discord server to find players that are creating new level 1 heroes that may wish to create a party.
Searching for hosted games with already leveled and geared players will likely not be a good experience, and probably result in leavers. The reason for this is that enemies scale in difficulty with the number of players, and if you are a level 1 newbie in a Legend difficulty game on an end-game map, then you are only dragging your team down and soaking up experience and loot drops.
The best way to experience Roshpit Champions for the first time is by hosting a game, solo or with friends, and learning the basics by progressing through the Tutorial map, then the Normal difficulty on the Redfall Ridge map.
